7 PM COORS EVENT CENTER, MARCH 1ST, 2005

At 7 p.m. on March 1, 2005, the G.O.R.D. organization and Kappa Alpha Theta hosted speaker Josh Goldman at the Coors Event Center. Goldman's presentation included a special showing of the Emmy award winning film, "Tell Me Something I Don't Know." Both the film and the speaker entail topics often associated with high-risk drinking such as alcohol abuse, sexual assault, personal responsibility, hazing, and liability.

G.O.R.D. officials believe the video and presentation take a different approach to teaching young adults the risks involved with binge drinking. The film is considered a breakthrough in the attempt to communicate the dangers of alcohol.

"Tell Me Something I Don't Know" is not a video based upon statistics; rather it follows the life and death of Massachusetts Institute of Technology freshman Scott Krueger in 1997. The incident received national media attention. The film is a very personal, touching and up-close look at this tragic accident. It is bound to be a rude awakening for those who are privileged enough to view it.

Unique in this presentation is the portrayal of information on binge drinking and parties. Though death is included in the story, the video focuses on those responsible and their consequences including arrests, fines and expulsion.

The G.O.R.D. organization hosted a large turn out for this worth-while presentation.
