G.O.R.D. to Sponsor September 17 th “Leadership Forum” in Remembrance of Gordie Bailey Jr.
A “Leadership Forum” commemorating the death of Gordie Bailey will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 17, 2005, at the University of Colorado University Memorial Center in room 235. Michael and Leslie Lanahan, The Gordie Foundation, G.O.R.D., the Chi Psi Fraternity Alpha Psi Delta Alumni and the University of Colorado are inviting leaders from all Fraternity, Sorority, Alumni Interfraternity Council, Interfraternity Council, National Interfraternity Council, Pan-Hellenic organizations and all other University of Colorado student group leaders to attend.
Ron Stump, CU Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, will welcome the participants and initiate a session that will create a foundation for positive change in the Boulder community. Among the event topics will be an introduction to The Gordie Foundation and G.O.R.D, Michael Lanahan’s perspective on Gordie’s tragic passing, and a technical analysis on alcohol poisoning by Dr. William B. McIlvaine, Jr, Associate Chairman of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
At 5:30 pm, we will listen to, and pay our respects to, the Lanahan and Bailey families at a vigil on the steps of the old Chi Psi Lodge at 1080 14 th Street in Boulder. All parties are asked to join us in our celebration of Gordie Bailey’s life.
